The Great Little T’s May Sew-A-Long
In honour of the return of the awesome The Great British Sewing Bee, I’ve introduced the first Sew-A-long to the Little T’s Haberdashery Facebook Page. Hurrah! Those of you who are signed up to our Newsletter will have heard about it already, you lucky folk! (Want to sign up to the Newsletter so you don’t miss announcements in the future, visit our page here and complete the sign up box in the footer).
After much trawling of patterns, I decided on a free pattern for a fab reversible children’s bucket hat. It’s perfect for summer, easy enough for beginners and doesn’t use a whole load of fabric so isn’t too expensive to make up either. The pattern is by Oliver and S and is available to download here.
I‘ve already made up one to test the pattern, Thomas loves it! Here he is modelling it on a recent day out. He’s two but fit’s the 3 to 6 years size. Definitely follow the instructions and measure your little one’s head before starting! I can’t wait to make up some more, they will be fab for having spares in the car, changing bag, my handbag, at nursery etc etc. Plus Thomas can help choose his favourite fabrics, making him much much more likely to actually keep it on his head!
I’ll be posting updates and progress photos along the way. There are already lots of people, including some very talented sewists, who have said they’ll be joining in, so there will be plenty of help available for any questions or pleas for assistance! No questions are stupid questions I promise!
Happy Sewing!
